We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer. You will be responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes/ warehouse and products. Functions performed may include determining the machines, equipment, and tools, and the sequence of operations necessary to perform production and assembly operations, recommending the design of production machines and other plant equipment, and advising and assisting vendors with design problems in connection with tools, gauges, and equipment designed for use in manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works on projects related to productivity, safety, ergonomics, scrap reduction or other initiatives to support the manufacturing process and warehouse operations.
  • Maintains data integrity by revising the system records on process changes made by changing the routings, bills of materials, work centers, etc.
  • Coordinate projects with vendors, manufacturing engineers and maintenance.
  • Support supervisors and value stream in resolution of daily problems.
  • Analyze opportunities to reduce/eliminate the waste of overproduction, waiting, conveyance, over-processing, inventory, unnecessary motion, defects, and unused team member cycle time.
  • Educates team members operators on the importance of eliminating the wastes denoted above.
  • Drives productivity improvements.
  • Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the applicable quality procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement
  • Follows EHS rules and regulations and suggests ways for continual improvement

Required Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree (Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering).

Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years' experience in knowledge of materials, processes, systems and general manufacturing methods.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment. Must have experience in the application and implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Creative and innovative thinking.
  • Analytical trouble shooting and problem solving (root cause analysis, FM Tips, etc.).
  • Proficient / Expert / Master MS Excel , Access
  • Knows ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, MacPac or similar)
