SUMMARY:

Join a team that innovates, develops, and executes product design initiatives within the Research, Development, and Innovation Organization at Andersen Windows and Doors. You will be integral in creating industry-leading high-performing durable product solutions. You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The individual will be directly responsible for:

  • Developing innovative customer-focused design concepts and solutions
  • Delivering mechanical designs, developed using engineering principles, in a variety of material technologies including wood, glass, metals, plastics, and composites
  • Technical Documentation
  • Technical Presentations
  • Engineering Change Orders
  • Product Quality Improvements
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Production Support
  • Certification Support

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of related mechanical design experience
  • Experienced with 3D CAD modeling package
  • Demonstrated use of FEA
  • Demonstrated use of dimensional tolerance analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to design experimentation, analyze results, and draw conclusions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with a high level of ambition and drive
  • Strong people skills, able to work in a highly collaborative team environment

SALARY INFORMATION:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
