Project Engineer - Turtle Lake, WI

Job Purpose:To provide injection molding processing and engineering expertise for a range of product and materials. Also are responsible for identifying and implementing innovative engineering technologies, which will deliver highly efficient and cost effective processes and equipment.

* Develops and procures Plastic Injection tooling for new and existing customer part designs.

* Manages the development and implementation process of Sanmina's products and services, involving departmental and cross-functional teams, focused on the delivery of new or existing products.

* Plans and directs resource schedules and budgets, at times in excess of $500k.

* Manages several projects simultaneously, from initiation, to delivery, and through the end of a product's lifecycle.

* Organizes all interdepartmental activities, ensuring completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints.

* Drives positive change within the organization by seeking out and implementing process enhancements and continuous improvements.

* Work closely with customers on part design for manufacturability for Plastic Injection Molding, assuring that Sanmina can process an acceptable product once tool is built. Must understand customer's specifications and expectations.

* Quote new Plastic Injection tooling, coordinate tooling vendor selection and manage selected tool vendor through entire tool build process. Place tooling PO's accordingly. Develop project plan and provide customer with delivery schedules/timelines, Gantt charts, and other desired information. Maintain on-time delivery of tooling.

* Lead internal team and drive timely completion of projects, within quoted budget, by maintaining internal checklists and timelines. Schedule project review meetings to discuss project needs and expectations.

* Must coordinate tool design reviews, material selection and procurement, secondary tooling design, tool sampling, FAIR's, PPAP's and part approvals.

* Provide Document Control with all pertinent new product information for initial set-up of parts in system.

* Responsible for creating NPI's, initiating ECO's, and assuring that the process is running to quote.

* Quote and manage tooling revisions and tool repairs.

* Work with Cost Estimating and cross-functional teams to estimate cycle times, process flow/layout, part pricing, etc.

* Responsible for the timeline of projects and must assure that all other departments and vendors are on schedule and have current data.

* Engineering liaison between our plant and the customer throughout entire production life of a product.

* Travel as necessary to support customer. International travel is possible. Other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

* B.S. degree in Engineering field with 2-5 years of Project Engineering experience or 5-10 years experience as a Tooling Engineer; preferably Plastic Injection Molding experience.
