Job Description
The Dept Manager, Enterprise Resiliency Management will be responsible for developing and executing the overall strategy and program related to procedures and controls enabling business resiliency and sound responses to situational crises and events. The role is responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise-wide framework for identifying, assessing, and proactively mitigating a broad range of threats to avoid disruption to business operations. This role will also lead the Fusion Center for rapid and comprehensive incident response to minimize adverse impact to customers and employees, integrating physical security, fraud and risk management, and cyber responses, as needed.
40 hours a week
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Create, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide Situational Crisis Management plans, communications processes, and tools in line with industry best practices and regulatory expectations, including those with suppliers and business partners.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to Develop and manage high-risk or large-scale business-impacting events resulting from cyber, fraud and technology incidents, extreme weather, geopolitical unrest, terror threats, etc. Oversee rapid response efforts in accordance with documented processes to minimize business disruption.
  • Manage crises in a way that aligns to the risk framework and meets business objectives.
    Develop formal reporting schedules, coordinate and deliver enterprise communications to internal and external stakeholders regarding the status of Valley's Business Resiliency and Crisis Management program, including annual reporting, audit report responses and customer requests.
  • Enhance processes related to Crisis Management and Business Resiliency as it relates to delivery and enhancement of Fusion Center integrated services and threat assessment. Develop a framework to leverage a shared database to ensure customer and employee safety from threats and avert business disruption.
  • Facilitate After Action Reviews (AARs) following an incident or exercise to assess the response effort, identify lessons learned to incorporated in plans and enhance response capabilities. Assess recovery requirements verses recovery capabilities and develop strategies to mitigate significant gaps and risks.
  • Coordinate program audits -- internal and external, as well as customer/prospect requests for program assessments and assist business and support functions in evaluating tools and technology that support the enterprise's response, recovery, and restoration strategies.
  • Advise business units and IT in conducting risk assessments and business impact analyses, developing appropriate business disruption risk mitigation strategies and controls, and in creating, implementing, exercising, and maintaining business continuity and incident management plans.
  • Stay abreast of markets, banking industry trends and best practices in threat identification and response and monitor emerging security threats. Review technology solutions to ensure best practices are in place.
  • Evaluate security threats, participate in remediation activities, foster threat awareness, and engage with stakeholders to provide guidance in risk mitigation.
  • Provide insights before conducting due diligence on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, new products/services, facility changes and others.

Required Skills:
  • Experience in incident response and/or crisis management and communications within Financial Services industry.
  • Expertise in Business Resiliency requirements, setting and measuring Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), Business Continuity planning and development of Business Impact Analysis documentation.
  • Working knowledge of current production operations and recovery strategies for critical business processes, products and services, as well as of the IT operations, applications and infrastructure, specific to Financial Services industry.
  • Ability to negotiate, implement and enforce SLAs, service-level objectives (SLOs) and contracts with internal and external stakeholders, and business and IT service providers.
  • Strong business acumen, an understanding of the organizational priorities, and how the failure of internal and external dependencies including IT infrastructure and the supplier/third-party ecosystem would impact service delivery.
  • Executive presence and the ability to immediately establish credibility within the organization and with clients and partners.
  • Proven skills in leadership with a track record in delivering committed results in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to successfully lead a variety of projects of multifaceted complexity working with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills tailoring to various levels of management spanning from board-level, executives to mid-levels.
  • Experience in program organization, governance, program management, implementation, group facilitation and training.
  • Proficient PC skills for Microsoft Office -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology or related area.
  • Minimum of 10 years of business resiliency and/or crisis/incident management experience.
Preferred Experience:
  • Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), Certified Functional Continuity Planner (CFCP) or Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
