Job Description

The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking an experienced finance and accounting analyst lead.


Overview of Position:
Responsible for the financial management/planning of the Department of Medicine and its service units. This position provides financial leadership within the department to ensure all units are meeting the fiscal strategic goals of the School of Medicine and the University of Missouri. This person will work closely with the Department Administrator, Department Chair, and Finance Director for School of Medicine. This person will also actively participate in the development of strategy, long-range plans, and financial planning, in collaboration with School of Medicine finance.

Duties include:
Researches, tracks, monitors and maintains all departmental accounts and accounting structure. Prepares and analyzes reports of variance to budget.
Responsible for the preparation of annual budget. Reviews trends, helps forecast futures expenses/revenue based on trend analysis.
Manages One Card process/reconciliation and reviews. Monitors and reports on expenses for assigned accounts. Ensures transactions are allocated properly and makes corrections as needed.
Assists leadership teams with both department and division-specific review of revenue and expenses. Researches variance to budget, correcting entries as needed. Meets regularly with leadership teams to provide financial standing reports and makes recommendations for improving financial management of accounting structure.
Assigns daily work of other finance staff to ensure that all work is done properly and completed in a timely manner while providing training and on the spot corrections as needed.
Reviews and monitors contracts and activities. Prepared ad-hoc reports, queries, etc as assigned to assist leadership and team to manage all financial transactions.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Shift

Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm

Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred. Staff supervision, budget preparation, and experience in large clinical department preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $58,573 - $93,320 Annually
GGS Grade: GGS-011
