Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler is responsible for the effective and consistent coordination of work orders for production to meet customer delivery requirements and stocking levels while considering facility capacities and labor constraints. This includes reviewing and reacting to system planning information, creating/managing work orders and interacting and coordinating with all internal areas including Master Scheduling, Production Operations Leadership, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Production Planning and Operations Management to ensure alignment and execution of the production plan.
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly production schedules and targets.
  • Balance existing labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput.
  • Review new product introductions, and be actively involved in buyoff processes to ensure production operations can support all program requirements and volumes.
  • Contribute to daily and weekly schedule attainment metrics and works cross functionally within the operations team to identify gaps/opportunities and improve performance.
  • Provide feedback to the leadership team regarding existing orders, challenges, and production forecasting, and suggest improvements to streamline efficiencies.
  • Create an environment for success through good communication.
  • Achieve results through the work of others and through influencing .
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, production floor environment with some office time.
  • May be standing and moving between facilities and buildings much of the day.
  • Prolonged exposure to shop floor conditions.
  • Will require the use of safety toe shoes and other PPE.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Work Experience: Three years in a production environment.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent PC skills and the ability to maintain a high level of proficiency with the business software functions related to planning, scheduling, inventory management.
  • Organization Skills: Strong organizational acumen, ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
  • Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; engages and builds effective relationships across the organization; provides excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to influence and possesses organizational savvy; ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information; ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills: High level of resourcefulness and analytical thinking; excellent problem solving skills with the ability to provide easily understood solutions; demonstrates execution skills (strategy through implementation).
  • Physical, Mental and Visual Skills: Ability to read, write, type; sitting and standing for long periods of time up to 10 hours per day.
  • Physical Environment: Normal office environment; potential of exposure to moving equipment, if proper safety procedures are not followed.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Education: Advanced degree in business management or manufacturing/production leadership is strongly preferred; professional certifications (CPIM) and designations are highly desirable
  • Computer Skills: Prior experience working with Shop Floor Scheduling and ERP software systems

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Travel:

Travel estimated less than 5% of the time.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be able to pass EVerify.
