Assistant Project Engineer - Completionsin GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

DUTIES: Lead engineering teams in the execution of projects or segments of engineering programs under the guidance of senior project engineering personnel. Establish requirements, operational objectives, and work plans for the successful completion of projects and programs. Be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting segments of engineering projects with diversified technical requirements. Define project work scope and develop statements of work, task descriptions, product plans, budget estimates, and manpower requirements. Assign tasks to functional personnel and suppliers for specific projects and provide the necessary project direction to meet schedules and fulfill requirements. Provide project management between engineering sections and all related functions including program management, other departments, suppliers, consultants, and customers. Anticipate and work closely with project team members to resolve problems with assigned projects (technical, budget, schedule) and recommend appropriate action to prevent their occurrence. Effectively report to management on key project accomplishments, status, issues, and budget. Approve project related engineering data to assure compliance with corporate policies and FAA/military requirements as required. Work under direct leadership and guidance of a senior-level project engineer. Interact with senior management and key officials of other organizations as required. Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure all work meets customer requirements. Maintain a current knowledge of technical developments. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field required. Five years of experience in job offered or related engineering position in the aerospace industry using Catia, Smarteam, Solumina, Mainframe, and SAP required. One year of project management experience required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field and five years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field and three years of experience or a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field and one year of experience. International and national travel up to 25%.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years Engineering experience. 1 year Project management experience. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

  5. Responsible for building and leading engineering project teams.
