Job Overview:

This position is responsible for the operation of plant production lines to achieve the target line efficiency and provide direction to the employees working on those lines. The employee should be familiar with all production equipment to the extent that he/she can make adjustments, repairs, and perform routine maintenance on the lines. The employee monitors all areas within their process to ensure that a quality product is produced to supply customer demands in a safe working environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Must have the ability to work alone after a maximum of 180 days.
  • Boiler operation
  • Welding
  • Some understanding of ammonia refrigeration.
  • Basic electricity knowledge
  • Familiar with motor systems
  • Inventory control
  • Written communication skills
  • Use of shop / hand tools
  • Pipe fitting
  • Computer skills
  • Leader in safety
  • Knowledgeable in sprinkler / alarm system
  • Utility trouble shooting skills
  • Control knowledge
  • Working knowledge of P.S.M.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Must perform job duties efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and have a high degree of mobility (such as climbing, squatting, kneeling, extending, etc.).
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must successfully complete the Mechanical Skills Assessment.
  • Must hold a valid Fork Truck License.
  • Must display strong leadership ability, interpersonal skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality rules and procedures.
  • Self-starter, willing to initiate work, direct others and requires minimum supervision.
  • Strict adherence to all safety rules and procedures (such as Lockout/Tagout, HAZWOPER).
  • Housekeeping and sanitation.
  • Willing to attend training on-stie and off-site for job development.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • Must adhere to all Kraft Policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and follow internal Kraft Heinz Procedures.

  • Plant History:
    • J.L. Kraft purchased the Phenix Cheese Company in 1928, only 25 years after selling cheese to grocers in Chicago from his horse drawn wagon.
    • In 1929, approximately 90 employees in the Kraft-Phenix Cheese Plant in Beaver Dam produced 10 million pounds of Philadelphia Cream Cheese, Neufchatel, Camambert Cheeses, along with butter and sweet cream.
    • Separation technology, which allowed cream cheese to stay fresher much longer - going from 18 days to 120 days, was developed in Beaver Dam by Oscar J. Link in the 1940's.
    • In the 1960's the plant underwent a major remodeling to add additional cooler storage and dry storage. Kraft Heinz continues to invest in the Beaver Dam facility with state-of-the-art technologies in the cream cheese industry.
